Course Entry & Visa Requirement

All international students must be 18 years of age at the time of commencement.

International Students applying for this qualification must have a minimum English language proficiency of IELTS 6.0 or an equivalent exam result recognised by the Department of Home Affairs.

You must still take the BIC’s pre-enrolment test at Orientation. It is used as a guide to determine the level of language, literacy and numeracy required for competent performance.

Other equivalent English language proficiency level is deemed one of the following:

English Language Evidence Exemptions:

You do not need to provide evidence of an English test score with your visa application if one of the following applies:

  • you are a citizen and hold a passport from UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
  • you are an applicant who is a Foreign Affairs or, Defence sponsored student or a Secondary Exchange student (AASES)
  • you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
  • you have completed at least 5 years’ study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland
  • in the 2 years before applying for the student visa, you completed, in Australia and in the English language, either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate IV or higher level, while you held a student visa.

 Students must have completed Year 12 or equivalent

BIC will also administer Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Evaluation test and PTR Test to all students to ensure that they can complete the course and if they any specific student needs. These tests will occur prior to the course commencement and will be assessed by authorised BIC delegate.

All international students must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of their stay in Australia.

Pathways

On completion of BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business, students may undertake qualifications at Advanced Diploma or above in business training package or pursuing Bachelors in Business.

Participants completing BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business may enter into or continue current roles including:

  • Entrepreneurship.
  • Business Enterprise Manager.
  • Regional Manager.
  • Corporate services manager.
  • Business consultant.

Courses Details

Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL. Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer. RPL evidence must include some of the following:

  • Work experience.
  • Life experience.
  • Previous study.
  • Professional development programs.

Assessment methods used for this qualification will provide a range of ways for individuals to demonstrate that they have met the required outcomes including:

  • Written Questions and Answers.
  • Projects.
  • Case Studies.
  • Observations.

At the beginning of each unit, trainers will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.

This course will be delivered over 64 weeks consisting of 54 weeks of face-to-face study over 5 terms (10 weeks each) and 4 weeks of term break.

Student needs are declared by the applicant at the time of enrolment: the application form allows the applicant to self-declare where they have learning disabilities.

Every student is interviewed either face-to-face or over the telephone to attempt to establish the applicant skill and knowledge levels, their current employment and how that relates to the course content and interaction.

Where language, literacy and numeracy are in question, BIC has a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment they may undertake to confirm their level of language, literacy and numeracy skills.

Tuition fees and other compulsory costs (equipment, uniforms etc.) may change from year to year. However, students continuing in their current qualification will not incur any fee increases.
